RE: Ottawa Diplomatic Association- ODA-

To all Diplomatic Mission and High Commissions,

The Ottawa Diplomatic Association –ODA- has the honour to inform the Diplomatic Community through all the Embassies and High Commissions accredited to Canada that the ODA’s IX General Assembly held on May 8, 2007, at the British High Commission, 80 Elgin Street, Ottawa, elected a new Executive Board among its members.

Please, find attached the list of the elected members. Most of them were elected by acclamation.

The IX General Assembly’s also unanimously decided to award Mr. Malcolm McKechnie, Department of Foreign Affairs’ Chief of Protocol, Honorary Membership of the ODA, in recognition of his friendly and efficient cooperation with the Association.

The new membership’s fee up to May 8, 2007, was fixed as 60 Dollars, as unique fee for the whole mission of each diplomat registered.

The Executive Committee will be pleased to assist and inform you on matters related to the Association. If you are not yet a member of the ODA, we would like to take this opportunity to invite you to become a member and share your experiences and knowledge with us. Your collaboration will help strengthen the Diplomatic Community’s presence in Canada and facilitate relationships with the authorities as well as the society. Your presence will also reinforce the Diplomatic Community itself and will contribute to a stronger association.

To adhere to the ODA, you need to send the enrolment filled with the fee to the ODA’s Treasurer Ms. Maha Hamdy, First Secretary of the Embassy of Egypt.

The General Assembly of the Ottawa Diplomatic Association
-ODA- elected its new Executive Committee Ottawa, May 8, 2007


We are pleased to inform that the Ottawa Diplomatic Association –ODA- held its IX General Assembly on Tuesday, May 8, 2007, from 6:15 to 8:25 p.m., at the British High Commission, 80 Elgin Street, Ottawa.

During the General Assembly, Ambassador of Romania, H.E. Elena Stefoi, was reelected as President and a new Executive Committee was elected among the members, whose representatives are listed below.

As part of the main IX General Assembly’s decisions was designate unanimously as Honorary Member, Mr. Malcolm McKechnie, Department of Foreign Affairs’ Chief of Protocol, a designation granted in recognition to his friendly and efficient cooperation to the Association.

The new membership’s fee up to May 8, 2007, was fixed as 60 Dollars, as unique membership’s symbolic contribution to the Association for the whole mission of each diplomatic college.
